CLASE 3: EL Día internacional de la cobertura sanitaria universal
SESSION 3 - Universal Health Coverage Day
El próximo 12 de diciembre se celebrará, como todos los años, el día internacional de la cobertura sanitaria universal. Pero este 2020 no será como todos los años. En este 2020, cuando llegue el 12 de diciembre, habremos aprendido con dolor cómo de importante es tener un sistema sanitario fuerte, con medios, con materiales, con infraestructuras y con buenos y suficientes profesionales. Habremos aprendido que se puede morir por falta de camas y de respiradores también en un país desarrollado y europeo como el nuestro. Que todos somos vulnerables, y que debemos tener el objetivo global todos de luchar por el cumplimiento en todo el mundo del Artículo 25 de la Declaración Universal de Derechos Humanos:

Toda persona tiene derecho a un nivel
de vida adecuado que le asegure, así como a su familia, la salud y el
bienestar, y en especial la alimentación, el vestido, la vivienda, la
asistencia médica y los servicios sociales necesarios; tiene asimismo
derecho a los seguros en caso de desempleo, enfermedad, invalidez,
viudez, vejez y otros casos de pérdida de sus medios de subsistencia por
circunstancias independientes de su voluntad.
On December 12 we will celebrate, as we do every year, the Universal Health Coverage Day. This year's celebration, however, will not be the same. When the time comes in December 2020 we will have learnt through a lot of pain and suffering how important it is to have a strong universal health system, with proper infrastructures and enough skilled professionals. We will have learnt that we can die because of a significant shortage of beds and ventilators in the hospitals of a European 'developed' country like ours. We will have learnt that we are all vulnerable, and that we must all share the global objective of fighting for the worldwide fulfilment of Article 25 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights:
Everyone has the right to a standard of living adequate for the health and well-being of himself and of his family, including food, clothing, housing and medical care and necessary social services, and the right to security in the event of unemployment, sickness, disability, widowhood, old age or other lack of livelihood in circumstances beyond his control.
ESTA TAREA ES ESPECIALMENTE IMPORTANTE, porque tiene como objetivo imaginar un lema que represente todo lo que hemos aprendido sobre la necesidad de tejer una red social que no deje a nadie atrás. Piensa qué quieres para el futuro, qué crees que es importante construir para hacer frente a situaciones como la que estamos viviendo.
THIS TASK IS PARTICULARLY IMPORTANT because its objective is to devise a slogan which represents all that we have learnt about the need to weave a social network that does not leave anyone behind/outside. Think about what you want for the future, about what we need to strengthen most in order to cope with situations like the one we are facing now.
